Work with me

I have had the pleasure of working on a variety of commissions from Thompson's Restaurant on the Isle of Wight where I created unique watercolour paintings for both floors of the restaurant to images for the Quay Arts Centre on the Isle of Wight where I created illustrations for their vegan taster menu night from posters for the event, a bespoke menu design and images framed and displayed in the venue itself. My work has even branched out to hand painted glass designs for a stained glass window in a private home.

I like to think that I can set my mind to many creative tasks and achieve results which will be timeless and beautiful.

I am also a regular contributor to Style of Wight magazine, where you can see my Illustrations in the recipe feature in each issue. I have also illustrated features in Taste of the Wight, Matt and Cat's eating out guide in the Isle of Wight County Press and several other online magazines.

I love editorial illustration and always welcome new enquires regarding this work.

PROCESS

My working method begins with a consultation with the client either face to face or via email. I like to get as much information on the brief initially to get a feel for the desired outcome. Once I have this information I can begin a sketch, either from life or from photos taken by me or provided by the client, I can at this point show the rough sketch to the client for approval and after this stage I can begin painting the image. I use white nights watercolours as they are a superior brand and give long lasting results. Once the image is finished and approved by the client I can frame the image if required or scan in the painting and send digitally.

The time it takes to create the artwork can differ depending on the subject matter, size and other factors so please do bear this in mind! I look forward to discussing your next project and you can get in touch on my contact page or feel free to email me at lilly@lillylouiseallen.com.
